A new mandate for Colonel ® Alfred Fuller at the head of the Standing Committee on African Affairs

The World Veterans Federation (FMAC), an international non-governmental organization founded in 1950 in Paris (France) held its 29th General Assembly at the UIC-P Espaces Congrès at 16,rue Jean Ray in the 15th arrondissement of Paris from February 16 to 18, 2019.

On the sidelines of this Assembly, the Standing Committee on African Affairs (CPAA), the African branch of the FMAC, held its meeting in room 202 on the 2nd floor of this imposing building on February 18, 2019 in the morning. Among other issues discussed, the participants proceeded to the election of the new Executive Board of the CPAA. During the voting, the Africans renewed their confidence in Colonel ® Alfred FULLER by electing him unanimously to the post of President of the CPAA for a new term of three (3) years. His election to this post gives him the title of Vice President of the World Veterans Federation and Member of the Federal Executive Board.

Since his election as head of this African body in September 2015 in Sopot, Poland, this Cameroonian has shown himself to be a hard worker with a great insight into the issues of the Commission. Thus, with the assistance of the Cameroonian Minister in charge of Defense and the endorsement of the Cameroonian Head of State His Excellency Paul BIYA, he organized the 15th Meeting of this Commission which had remained in hibernation for eight (8) years after its 14th Meeting held in Maputo in Mozambique in 2008.

Since then, Colonel Alfred FULLER has set himself the objective of revitalizing this Commission in the search for its benchmarks, namely: the defense of the interests of African veterans, their involvement in the search for peace in Africa and finally, their health and well-being, difficult tasks when we know how much veterans are left behind in some African countries, despite the efforts they have made for the advent of peace in the world at the cost of bloodshed.

The second mandate of Colonel Alfred FULLER comes as a recognition of the work well done during the first mandate, in order to complete the one started in 2008. The grateful country, the Federal Executive Board honored him during the closing dinner of this General Assembly by awarding him "THE VETERAN MEDAL OF HONOR".

On the one hand, Colonel Alfred FULLER can be satisfied, because in the end, he carries high the torch of his dear and beautiful country Cameroon. On the other hand, this Central African country can be proud of this responsible person who continues to accomplish, in the shadow, a remarkable work for the recognition and the consideration of the African fighting world.
